CHEVEUX
BRANDING
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop
Client: Cheveux (University Project for Brand and Identity Design)
About the Project: Develop the visual brand and identity design for a company/organisation of choice aiming towards sustaining the sustainable and promoting action. The purpose of the branding is to explore the importance of future-thinking in regards to climate change.
Design Direction: The brand called, Cheveux who are a French made, sold worldwide haircare brand with a head office located in Melbourne, Australia and they produce haircare products that are sustainable with a luxurious feel.
The primary value Cheveux wants to communicate is sustainable beauty and attainable luxury. As Cheveux’s vision is to bring nature and luxury together in a vast range of hair-care products that are safe, effective and beautiful to use, this really had to be reflected in the brand mark design.
The brandmark focuses on the concept of plants to products, so I incorporated a sense of nature into the brandmark, by including subtle and intricate plants, leaves and flowers, in support of the brand’s identity. Whilst hinting at the brands commitment to the environment. I also focused on incorporating a silhouette of a females side to incorporate a feminine aspect.
A range of branded applications have been developed which feature the brandmark and a signature pattern. As well as incorporating a colour scheme consisting of a mid-tone green, orange and pale nude pink colour to represent an organic and sustainable view of the brand. These colours and design elements create a contrast which enhances the modern and elegant aesthetic of the brand, as well as conveying the image of sustainable beauty and attainable luxury.
